I simply cannot believe these little sweeties are 4 months old today!

We had Amanda come over this week to take some pictures of Rosalyn and the babies...they weren't that cooperative, but we still managed to get a few cute ones!
Yesterday was Caroline and Elaina's 4 month appointment. Caroline is 13.25 lb (29%), 24.25 in (35%), and her head is 16.25 in (47%). Elaina is bigger now--13.9 lb (43%), 24.5 in (45%), and her head is also 16.25 in (47%). So, big sister has been outgrown by little sister :) The pediatrician declared them both to be healthy, happy, beautiful babies (of course I agree!) with the exception of acid reflux problems which is being treated with an increased dose of Prevacid and special formula for both babies. They each got 2 shots + an oral vaccine...it turned them into fussy little cranksters and they have spent most of today crying even with Tylenol :(
Their personalities have really developed and they are extremely different! A good example: yesterday at the pediatrician's office Caroline destroyed quite a bit of that paper lining that goes over the exam table...she was so curious about it and just loved the way it looked/felt/sounded when she was crinkling it and would smile with delight when she crinkled or tore it. Elaina on the other hand, was not impressed. She turned down her lip and you could see her just shudder each time that Caroline would tear or crinkle that paper...I could tell it was making her so nervous to hear and feel it (they were laying side by side on the table). As soon as I picked her up, she was calm and content to watch Caroline tear the paper while snuggled in the safety of Mommy's arms. It is hilarious to us to observe their differences...they are both so precious though!
Caroline can: roll over tummy to back, laugh out loud like crazy, prop up on elbows and look around, and grab toys to put in her mouth. She is a very happy, mellow baby and likes to play and look around at her surroundings. She is a much "easier" baby than Elaina, but much harder to get her to eat/sleep.
Elaina can: laugh out loud (but is usually too shy), prop up on elbows and look around, grab her toys to put in her her mouth AND she sleeps 10-11 hours many nights! She will lean her body to me and cry if she wants me to take her from someone else. She is a snuggly baby and prefers to be held most of the time...some would label her as a fussy baby, but I think she is just a little princess :) Despite her fussiness when awake, she is a much better eater and sleeper than Caroline.
They both are quickly outgrowing their size 0-3 months clothes and size 2 diapers. They are usually in bed asleep by 7 pm at latest. Elaina will often sleep until 4-6 am before waking to eat, but Miss Caroline usually wakes us up around 1 am to eat and then again around 5 am. They are both up for the day around 7 am. They take 3-4 naps/day. They eat 6-7x/day. Elaina usually eats about 26 oz/day...Caroline usually eats about 22 oz/day.
So, there's the 4 month update! They are both just sweet and precious...I love them more than I could have ever imagined possible!
Rosalyn's 3rd birthday party is tomorrow, so we are looking forward to it. We decided to do a low-key, family only party this year since things have been so hectic with the babies.
